chos autores utilizan las 8 variables del conjunto para realizar
la predicción a través de la validación cruzada utilizada co-
múnmente en la herramienta de software WEKA.
CONCLUSIONES
Los algoritmos identificados como mas significativos pa-
ra la predicción y/o diagnóstico de Diabetes Mellitus Tipo 2
son los siguientes: Artificial Neuronal Network (ANN), Ran-
dom Forest (RF) Support Vector Machine (SVM), Decision
Tree o Árbol de decisión (J48, C4.5), K-nearest neighbor´s o
vecino más cercano (KNN) y Logistic R egression (LR), de
los cuales el mejor algoritmo para detección de diabetes me-
llitus tipo 2 es el algoritmo ANN debido que realiza el pro-
cesamiento de las variables de entrada por capas en un gran
conjunto de datos comprendido con datos cuantitativos como
cualitativos, mientras que el algoritmo SVM no trabaja con
grandes volúmenes de información y requiere de clases de-
pendientes para realizar una correcta predicción, finalmente
el algoritmo Deep Learning aún se encuentra en fase de ex-
perimentación para la detección de la diabetes mellitus tipo
2, ya que los datos deben ser cuantitativos, sin embargo cabe
recalcar que tiene gran aceptación con grandes volúmenes de
datos.
Las variables más utilizadas dentro de los casos de estudio
como experimentación son: Índice de masa corporal (BMI),
concentración de glucosa en sangre (PLASS) y edad sin em-
bargo el ampliar las variables mejora la predicción.
Para finalizar los lenguajes de programación más utiliza-
das en los estudios seleccionadas fueron: Java y Python, las
herramientas más utilizadas dentro del estudio son Weka y
Matlab.
