The journal is published every six months in Spanish and English. Each publication is identified with a DOI (Digital Object Identifier System) to improve its positioning in global search engines.

Peer review process

Revista Económica (RVE) follows an anonymous peer review process, also known as double blind peer review. The choice of reviewers is made by the journal's Editorial Board, seeking an affinity between the subject matter of the article and the field in which the reviewer publishes. Once the article is received, the editor takes approximately two weeks to notify the author(s) whether or not the article is accepted for review. If the article is accepted for review, the peers have a period of two months to review the article, who based on policies established by the Editorial Board, the originality of the article, the novelty of the data and methodology, and depending on the contribution of the article to the economic science, it can be accepted or rejected. If it is rejected, the Editor will communicate to the authors that the article was rejected. If the article is accepted it can be with minor and major changes, and will be communicated by the Editor to the author(s). Once articles are rejected they cannot be resubmitted to the journal for one year. When authors receive notification of accepted articles they have thirty days to make the changes and resubmit them for consideration by the reviewers. This process may be repetitive until the article is finally accepted.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that providing the public with free access to research aids in the greater global exchange of knowledge. The Revista Económica does not establish any cost or APC`s for processes of reception, evaluation or publication of scientific articles, with no exceptions. This is an open access journal, therefore, all content is freely available to the user or his institution. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text of articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or author.

Preservation Principles

The aim of this Policy is to ensure that the digital resources hosted by the Economic Review remain authentic and accessible in the future to anyone who needs them. To do so, it must counteract the threats of rapid technological obsolescence and the inherent fragility of digital media by providing mechanisms to identify and predict the impacts of these threats on its resources, and to plan and execute appropriate preservation strategies to mitigate these impacts. That is why digital documents are backed up with full copies of the original documents (together with their metadata) hosted on different storage platforms, avoiding as much as possible the storage on physical media such as hard disks or compact disks that could deteriorate over time resulting in the loss of information.
