Abstract
The Revista Económica (RVE) contributes to the academic debate from a technical and scientific perspective through semi-annual publications in digital and printed format. The journal approaches the issues with a rigorous application of econometric techniques to economic and social problems. The first issue of this issue deals with food security for a sample of 291 rural households in the El Pangui canton, Zamora Chinchipe Province, Ecuador. Padilla et al. (2022) randomly selected for this study. In these homes, a survey consisting of 55 questions including sociodemographic variables was applied. The authors found that despite the fact that households have all the food groups, it is not a sufficient condition to guarantee the food security of its members, given the little variety of foods that make up each group and the low availability in grams per capita/ day.
Díaz-Tandazo (2022) carries out an econometric analysis between the variable associative participation, social capital and the socioeconomic factors of the individuals, and shows the limitations in agro-productive cooperation for the province of Loja. Their results suggest the generation of associative credit programs with low interest rates, market access offers, training program design taking into account farmers' time availability, efficient administrative reforms with fewer bureaucratic obstacles, greater tax incentives and circuits. marketing shorts. Vivanco and Bravo-Benavidez (2022) describe the perceptions that the inhabitants of the city of Loja have regarding climate change. Its main results show that: the majority of respondents, that is, 55.6% know what climate change is or why it is caused, while 44.4% do not have any knowledge, regarding the main adaptation measure, 80 % of respondents believe that the main adaptation and mitigation measure to face climate change is education.
Torres and Synch (2022) aim to understand the development of micro-enterprises in popular housing programs, taking "El Recreo" from the Duran canton as the study population. They find that informal entrepreneurship, which is born in this type of program, faces problems of financing, training, administration, state support and change of paradigms for the growth and sustainability of the business. Romero and Bravo-Benavidez (2022) evaluate the perception of resilience to climate change of Zaruma coffee producers. Their results showed that coffee farmers consider that global warming affects the growth and production of coffee plantations,In view of this, a large part of the coffee growers, on their own initiative, have proceeded to take measures to increase resilience in crops, among them are: renewing plantations, planting plants to generate shade, incorporating irrigation systems. Ortega and Moreno (2022) carry out their research considering the evaluation phase of the public budget, in order to measure the management developed in the parish councils. They apply indices and indicators of budgetary management and execution; based on data from the Quinara Parish. They find that in the rural parish council of Quinara the budget is not executed in its entirety, which causes inefficiency in the management, which is why better planning is urgently needed for efficient management, for compliance with the programs and projects of the parish budget.
Sarmiento-Terreros (2022) shows that most of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (76.10%) is imported and also the unfair distribution that is given to the benefit of the subsidy, since of the 768,660 million, assigned for the year 2022, it is estimated that only 169,105 million benefit almost half of the population, which is located in the first two quintiles of the population, while the 599,554 million, that is, the difference, benefits the population that is able to assume the real cost of this product. Torres-Ontaneda and Neira-Hinistroza (2022) determine the factors that prevent microenterprise growth. According to the results obtained, the most representative economic activities were Commerce and Services. Romero-Capa et al. (2022) determine the incidence of innovation andinstitutional quality in economic growth according to the income level of the countries. The main results found are a positive relationship between the variables, except in the case of low-income countries where the relationship between institutional quality and economic growth is negative.
Finally, Qhizhpe and Ponce (2022) evaluate the incidence of ICTs on the economic growth of Ecuador, period 2008-2018. For which, all the information was processed annual study of 21 provinces of Ecuador. The results show a positive relationship between economic growth and ICT, whose relationship improves if people have a higher level of schooling, are older, are mixed race, and live in urban areas.
We extend the invitation to read the articles, the opinion and the debate on the exposed topics are welcome.
