About the Journal

Bosques Latitud Cero is an open-access, indexed scientific journal published in digital format by the National University of Loja. Founded in 2005, it is published biannually in January and July each year. The journal aims to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge by providing a platform for the dissemination and transfer of research results.

The journal adopts a multidisciplinary approach, covering areas such as biodiversity, climate change, forestry, agroforestry, forest production, agricultural pests and diseases, genetics and improvement of forest and agricultural species, wood technologies, forest industries, forest policy and planning, environmental land-use planning, ecological restoration, watersheds, water resources, and socioeconomic development, among other topics related to renewable natural resources. It also examines the role of forests in the sustainability of agroforestry and silvopastoral production, as well as the impacts of environmental change on forest resources.

Targeted at society, the scientific community, professionals, and researchers, the journal shares diverse academic perspectives. It accepts manuscripts in Spanish and English and publishes research articles, reviews, commentaries, and guidelines, all of which undergo a double-blind peer-review process. The journal benefits from the participation of researchers from the National University of Loja, the Ministry of Environment of Ecuador, the Ecuadorian Agroforestry Network, and other renowned institutions that promote the publication, dissemination, and free access to knowledge, with no publication fees or article processing charges.
