Ardea cocoi (Cocoi Heron) is one of the lar- gest herons in Ecuador. It is commonly found under 400 m a.s.l. in the northern Amazon Re- gion and most of the South Central Coastal Re- gion. It is unusual to have records outside of its known distribution area. In this document we present the second Andean site where the specie has been found. This site is located 500 km further than the previous records, and the altitudinal range of A. cocoi in Southern Ecuador increases up to 2193 m a.s.l.Metrics
