Postoperative pain affects 30%-80% of patients in the first 24 hours after surgery worldwide. Despite advances in the pathophysiology of pain and the development of new techniques and drugs, the incidence remains high, impacting both physical recovery and satisfaction with medical care. Improving its management is crucial to reducing morbidity and preventing chronic pain. This study conducted a systematic review to evaluate patient satisfaction with the management of acute postoperative pain and perceived pain intensity. The Cochrane guidelines and PICO criteria were followed, conducting a search in PubMed, ProQuest, and SciELO, including studies since 2014. The PRISMA method was applied, and 13 articles were included, evaluated with the JBI tool, indicating mostly low risk of bias. The most effective strategies identified were multimodal therapy and regional analgesia. These not only reduced postoperative pain intensity but also improved patient satisfaction, showing a prevalence of mild pain and high levels of satisfaction. Multimodal therapies, local analgesia, and the use of NSAIDs were highlighted for their effectiveness in reducing pain and improving patient well-being.References
