Efectos citotóxicos de los extractos de hoja de Annona Cherimola Mill (Annonaceae)
Abstract
Annona cherimola (A. cherimola) es una planta tropical presente en el sur de CentroAmérica y unas partes de Asia, que se utiliza principalmente para el tratamiento de ladiabetes, etc. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar el efecto citotóxico de los extractosacuoso, etanólico y clorofórmico de las hojas de A. cherimola en líneas celulares de cáncer y en células mononucleares humanas normales. Los extractos etanólico y clorofórmico mostraron una fuerte actividad citotóxica contra líneas celulares de cáncer en relación al efecto contra las células normales. El efecto citotóxico de los extractos etanólico y clorofórmico fue comparable a aquella de Fluorouracilo o Cisplatino (controles positivos). Los efectos citotóxicos de los extractos acuosos fueron bastante débiles en comparación con los efectos de los extractos en etanol y cloroformo. A partir de estos resultados, se sugiere que A. cherimola podría tener componentes capaces de ser utilizados para el tratamiento terapéutico para el cáncer humano y también valdría la pena estudiar más a fondo su mecanismo de acción.References
