This study analyzes the cultural landscape in the Andean, Incaic, and contemporary eras. Not only is the landscape nature, it is also the product of the interaction with humans, the ancestors’ vestiges and heritage that provide an historic, symbolic, and defining character that connects and appreciate the past and the present, and develops processes of coexistence, emotional and physical health in a specific space-territory. The methodology, qualitative in nature, analyzes the aspects of culture, landscape, and identity to validate the knowledge of the Native American and mestizo cultures from the communities that live along the Qhapaq Ñan Trail in Loja. Finally, the relationship human-landscape is to be rethought as part of a changing reality which should not be interfered with, but should instead coexist with nature to improve people’s health and welfare.Downloads
