The Neuromyelitis Optica is a diesmelinizante, autoimmune, idiopathic disease characterized by the presence of optic neuritis and acute myelitis, previously considered as a variant of multiple sclerosis, but today is classi ed as a completely separate entity, because of it is imnunopatologic features, resistance to treatment, and poor prognosis. We report a clinical case of a patient with a history of tetraparesis and blindness, progressive on set and sequential presentation, which was initially diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, but later due to the clinical manifestations, treatment resistance to glucocorticoids and ndings on MRI made it diagnosis of Neuromyelitis Optica.Metrics
