Project-based learning (PBL) applied in Integral Management of Watersheds. Forest Engineering Case of Study

Abstract

Complementary to the academic process developed in the subject of Vegetation, Water and Watershed Social Resources, of the IX cycle of the Forest Engineering career in the period April-August 2017, the methodology developed for application of learning based on (ABP), a process that was evaluated based on the components disaggregated in the regulation of academic regime and the evaluation contemplated in the regulation of the student evaluation system for higher education. This work, which without pedagogical experience contrasts with a bookish, expositive and repetitive education, with a learning process where the student assumes a greater commitment, dedicates more collective effort, acts with responsibility and acquires protagonism; the teacher is conceived as an adviser, driver and collaborator of the process, acts with the greatest flexibility, without neglecting responsibility in the training of trained professionals, committed to social development and humanistic values. Concluding with satisfactory results for the different actors and not only to demonstrate a repetitive knowledge of passing the test, predominant in the current system.
