The production in Cuba of garlic (Allium sativum L.) is low despite the fact that a large amount of chemical fertilizers is consumed in this crop. Among the biostimulants of national production, with beneficial results in growth, yield and stress protection in different crops is QuitoMax®. In this way, the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of the application of different doses of QuitoMax® on the growth and development of the Criollo Víctor clone garlic crop under field conditions. Prior to manual planting in flower beds, the “seed” was defatted and immersed in different concentrations of QuitoMax® (1; 5 and 10 mg L-1) and 50 days after planting (ddp) was made a foliar application with these same concentrations, an experimental design of randomized blocks with four treatments and three replicas was used. The indicators height of the plant, number of leaves and chlorophyll content were evaluated at 70; 90 and 110 ddp. At 120 ddp the neck and equatorial diameters of the bulb, number of bulbs, fresh and dry mass of the bulb, as well as the caliber, firmness and yield were determined. Most of the indicators evaluated increased with the use of the biostimulant, the most promising dose of QuitoMax® was found to be 1 mg L-1. This biostimulant has potential to be inserted in the garlic production system.Metrics
